“Tyler hopes to one day play for his hometown team”
When Tyler was a young child, he had genetic testing done to determine why he would “shake” every once in a while. Along with his family’s medical history, tests showed that Tyler had some abnormalities with chromosome 5, known to cause epilepsy. After his diagnosis, doctors began treating Tyler for blank space seizures, also known as absence seizures. When Tyler was 8 years old, he had his first grand mal seizure and was rushed to the hospital for treatment and adjustment of his medications.
Tyler is the family comedian. He’s smart as a whip with a wonderful sense of humor. Known to be a little dare-devil, Tyler has a wildly adventurous spirit. Tyler’s passion is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He dreams of becoming just like “Raphael” or “Donatello” when he grows up. If that life path doesn’t work out though, he told Kids Wish Network that he’d be just as happy with his backup plan of becoming a member of the team for his home state heroes, the Boston Red Sox.
So, of course, Kids Wish Network partnered with the Boston Red Sox on a VIP Experience for Tyler!
After checking in at the Boston Park Plaza, located in the heart of the city, Tyler’s day started with lunch at the famous Wahlburger’s. Tyler and his family then headed over to Fenway Park for a VIP tour and a chance to watch batting practice, take pictures, and ask for autographs from some of baseball’s greatest. It was an exciting game against the NY Yankees.
It didn’t stop there for Tyler. The following day, he was able to take in all of the attractions at Legoland Discovery Center before dinner at Fire+Ice in the heart of the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston where Tyler “trained” as a chef! Two more stop on the way home the next day – Tyler enjoyed the fun and silliness of The Blue Man Group and a hardy dinner at Hard Rock Cafe.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following sponsors for helping make Tyler’s wish come true:
• Boston Red Sox
• Boston Park Plaza
• Hard Rock Café
• Legoland Discovery Center
• The Blue Man Group
