“Suffered a stroke at age 4”
At the age of 4, Gregory was involved in an unfortunate accident that completely changed his way of seeing the world. Because of a head injury he received in the accident, he also suffered a stroke. From the stroke, Gregory experienced hemiparesis, extreme weakness in one side of his body, and loss of vision in one eye. Since then, Gregory has had to retrain his body to do activities that were once simple.
He attends Miracle Kids Success Academy regularly for occupational and physical therapy services. The strength of his commitment to overcoming the difficult daily struggles that he faces is what makes Gregory a Hero. According to his nominating Educational Specialist, Gregory “has an outstanding attitude and a caring heart” that make him “very dear to his peers, teachers, and therapist.” His immensely sweet nature and loving ways shine through as he tries to make the best of his situation. He looks at each new day as an opportunity to keep getting better and stronger.
It is with great pride that we honor Gregory’s incredible bravery and strong perseverance by recognizing him as Kid’s Wish Network’s along with Miracle Kids Success Academy’s Hero of the Month. Way to go, Gregory!
