“Her favorite new toy is the BIG TV”
Diagnosed at age 7 with Type 1 diabetes, Mary Jane has been hospitalized 10 times. It is extremely important that she closely monitor her blood sugar levels or risk disabling complications that could be life-threatening.
At 10 years old, the outgoing youngest of four in her family is well versed in the practice of hand-me-downs and sharing. Happy-go-lucky Mary Jane always has a smile on her face and never complains. Kids Wish Network thought she deserved something special all to herself though and presented her with a few gifts she had been most ardently yearning for.
Mary Jane is now in every electronics fan’s paradise! Thanks to her new flat screen TV, X-Box 360 and stereo system, now she can watch The Fairly Odd Parents and Sponge Bob, play Ninja Minecraft and Sonic, and listen to Bruno Mars and P!nk all from the comfort of her own room. She was so excited that she re-arranged the whole space so that everything would have a proper place. Her favorite new toy is the BIG TV.
However, that’s not all; Mary Jane still has a gift card to look forward to spending. Her plan is to use it towards video games and accessories for her Xbox. After her highly anticipated delivery of goodies, the 10-year-old went out to celebrate at Red Robin. Their bottomless fries dipped in campfire sauce were tantalizing treats for Mary Jane’s taste buds!
Currently, Mary Jane is involved in Girl Scouts and gymnastics. Understanding how critical it is to keep a close watch on her blood sugar levels, Mary Jane continues to manage her life-long illness at home in Oregon.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank the “electronics fairies” over at Stereo Planet for their contribution as well as Red Robin for being one of Kids Wish Network’s Guardian Angel sponsors for Mary Jane.
