“Hunter is a true example of a HERO”
When Hunter was just an infant, a fire caused burns on 69% of his entire body. In the many years that Hunter has been a patient at Shriners Hospitals for Children- Cincinnati, he has undergone multiple surgeries. Because he was injured as a baby, Hunter has continually needed to have skin graft surgeries as he grows, sometimes a few years every year. These painful surgeries are necessary in order for Hunter to retain his ability to move and do everything his peers can.
Hunter is a compassionate 12-year-old who enjoys sports and is hoping to play football this year for the first time.
“Hunter has had to endure so much over the years due to his burn injury, yet continues to be strong, brave and a true example of what HERO is in his everyday life,” said his nominating Child Life Specialist.
KWN could not agree more and is proud to honor Hunter as a Hero of the Month!
