“Kenyell and her family had a great day”
When Kenyell started suffering from a back ache that wouldn’t go away, doctors began running tests: one discovered her white blood cell count was low; another discovered a tumor in her brain.
Kenyell was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a solid cancerous tumor that develops in the nerve tissue, and immediately scheduled for surgery. Doctors were able to remove the tumor and started Kenyell on chemotherapy and radiation treatments; even performing a bone marrow transplant.
Kenyell was declared in remission by August 2014, but, by the end of the year, the cancer had come back. In December, the right side of her face started dropping, and doctors found that the tumors had returned and multiplied; they were in her brain, back and spine. Doctors tried radiation treatments, but nothing they did shrunk the tumors, and surgery wasn’t an option. By early 2015, nothing seemed to affect Kenyell’s cancer.
Despite her struggles, Kenyell is a bubbly young lady who loves to spend time with her family. Like most girls her age, Kenyell loves to shop too, so KWN planned an unforgettable experience combining her two favorite things.
With the help of generous sponsors, Kenyell and her family enjoyed a day of shopping and activities at a local mall. They were even able to attend a VIP viewing of Disney’s “Cinderella”. Kenyell and her family had a great day, and KWN is glad we could grant her wish.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank all the sponsors that made Kenyell’s experience so memorable:
• Build-A-Bear Workshop

UPDATE: After an extremely brave battle, Kenyell lost her fight against cancer in May 2015. Kids Wish Network is grateful to our compassionate Guardian Angel sponsors that helped grant Kenyell’s perfect wish.
