In November 2014, Heather came to Shriners Hospitals for Children-Cincinnati after a campfire accident left her with severe burns on 70% of her body. The 12-year-old is a county-girl at heart and loves the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and country music. Throughout her stay, Heather has battled through painful wound treatments and therapy sessions but maintained her courageous spirit.
Heather was released at the end of the January 2015, but still has a tough road of healing ahead of her, both physically and emotionally. The staff at Shriners-Cincinnati can tell Heather will continue to be brave and get back to the things she loves as fast as she can.
Despite her life-altering situation, Heather radiates positivity and is a great example of a Hero of the Month!
