MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center, July 2014
Help us celebrate Jazmine, nominated by MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center as the July Hero of the Month. Jazmine was first treated at the facility at the age of four when she needed her tonsils removed. She remained in the hospital for only two days that time, much unlike her second and most recent visit.
Jazmine returned to the medical center when her neck swelled, which was diagnosed as an abscess under her skin. The little girl had six separate procedures during her week-long stay, but remained happy and playful throughout the ordeal. The 6-year-old suffered through daily blood draws, cleaning of her wound every day and a painful surgery.
“Jazmine never once complained,” recalls her nominating nurse. “She has an extremely kind and sweet nature which never disappeared throughout her hospitalization.”
