COLUMBUS, OH: Pursuing its mission to make childhood a joyous time, three-year-partner, Highlights for Children, Inc., donates over $18,000 worth of product to children’s charity Kids Wish Network (KWN). These educational-yet-fun magazines will help kids dealing with illness, abuse, neglect or homelessness develop positive self-worth by using creativity and imagination through key KWN programs.
Created in 1946, Highlights for Children, Inc. was formed around Garry and Caroline Myerses’ philosophy of “Fun with a Purpose”. The couple’s belief that children are best taught values by seeing positive examples in stories and articles is the foundation of the magazine. The Ohio-based company produces the Highlights and High Five magazines, plus games, puzzles and crafts in book clubs such as Puzzlemania, Puzzle Buzz and Which Way USA.
Kids Wish Network is thankful to Highlights for Children, Inc. for its always extraordinary donations. These donations are crucial to the success of Kids Wish Network’s Holiday of Hope Gift Bank and On Tour Event programs. They provide a welcome distraction from upsetting and often traumatic circumstances for kids at places such as the Turn Center in Amarillo, Texas, which uses the donations as motivation and rewards for ill children.
