“We love spending time together as a family.”
Layla is an adorable little 3-year-old from California. The spunky girl loves the Disney Channel, spending time with her family and singing. Despite using a wheelchair for mobility, you could never guess from Layla’s personality that she suffers from a life-threatening condition.
Diagnosed with Spina Bifida and hydrocephalus before birth, Layla’s mother was told it was unlikely Layla would survive delivery. But the tenacious fighter never gave up, and is still fighting against her illness. Doctors were forced to place a shunt in her brain immediately after birth, and Layla has since undergone 12 surgeries in her short three years.
Facing her 13th surgery at the end of February, Layla and her family can use her wish to help her through the rough recovery phase. Kids Wish Network sent Layla on an all-expense paid wish to Disney World. They enjoyed a stay at the fabulous Reunion Resort, visited the Disney parks and dined at unique Orlando restaurants. Layla spent time in the Magic Kingdom riding Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, chatting with Mary Poppins at Epcot, and meeting Mickey and Minnie Mouse at the Animal Kingdom.
“We love spending time together as a family,” says Layla’s mother, Jeanette. “This wish was a special treat, especially with Layla’s upcoming surgery.”
