It’s funny, when I set out to grant Rebecca’s wish for a pool, I didn’t know that my own wish would be granted in the process!
Once I’d gotten the awesome above-ground pool donated from Swim N Play, I needed to find someone to help install it in Rebecca’s backyard. That’s where everything went awry; I couldn’t find anyone! I called and called and was soon left wishing for someone to pick up the phone and want to help. And that’s when I heard from Bossier City firefighter Kevin. Besides being a firefighter, he also owns a company called B&P Dirt Works and he wanted to help with Rebecca’s wish; he said he would not only set up the pool, but he would also build Rebecca her very own deck and wheelchair ramp!
My wish for help on this wish was granted! AND in a bigger way than I could have ever asked for! Kevin also rounded up his fellow firefighters, including Mike and Christian from Acadian Concepts, and they’re going to be out there helping to set up the pool and build the deck and ramp. Isn’t that just amazing? And now nearby Genoa firefighters want to help out as well! They’re going to be bringing pizza out to the workers and Rebecca and her family AND they’re going to fill the pool with the firehose on the truck!
I couldn’t have asked for anything better and now Rebecca’s getting a fabulous wish in one day, thanks to some amazingly caring local firefighters.
To Kevin and his fellow Bossier City firefighters and the Genoa Fire Department, you guys ROCK! I can’t wait to see pictures of Rebecca’s new pool and wheelchair ramp! You’re going to make one special little girl very, VERY happy!
