When he was just four years old, Morris was diagnosed with autism as well as having a severe cognitive delay. Now, at the age of ten, he is battling 13 different diagnoses. Two of the diagnoses are life-threatening illnesses known as myotonic dystrophy and myopathy. Myotonic dystrophy is a type of muscular dystrophy that causes progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. This condition also causes involuntary muscle contractions called myotonia. In addition, the myopathy causes his muscle fibers to stop functioning. This weakening of Morris’ muscles makes everyday tasks difficult for him.
For his wish, Morris got to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Sea World. He loved every minute of his wish and his favorite two experiences were meeting Mickey Mouse and watching dolphins and whales perform at Seaw World. We’re so glad you enjoyed your wish, Morris!
