It’s amazing how quickly one’s life can change. Paige learned this firsthand after being injured while cliff-diving with friends. After jumping approximately 50 feet, Paige landed in the shallow end of the water where she hit her back. She was immediately brought to the hospital. The doctors reviewed her labs and radiologic studies before taking her to the operating room. It was determined that Paige had lower extremity paraplegia with complete spinal cord injury.
Although saddened by the news, Paige was always willing to work towards her recovery. Her positive attitude is one to be admired. Her essence shines through her beautiful smile. She has opened up to staff and talks candidly about her accident. According to Paige, she made the decision to jump and takes responsibility for it. Although the outcome is obviously not what she would have hoped for, she has explained that she does not focus on regretting the decision to jump because regret will get her nowhere in life. So rather than look back, Paige has chosen to look forward. She preserves through her treatments and allows no hurdles to stand in her way.
