Kameron’s “Little Wish!”

Kameron was diagnosed with having retinoblastoma, a cancer of the eye, when he was just a toddler. He had multiple tumors and, even though he suffered through long, agonizing chemotherapy and radiation treatments, he lost the use of his left eye and became legally blind. Since then, Kameron has been learning to read Braille. Also, in August of 2009, Kameron was diagnosed with having leukemia, a cancer of the white blood cells.

At first, Kameron wanted a magic wand to grant everyone else’s wishes, but when he found out that that wasn’t possible, he asked to have a Nintendo DSi of his very own. Since it was such a “little wish,” according to the woman at his local Best Buy, she helped to make his wish a bit bigger. So, on his birthday, Kameron was taken on a private tour of the Birmingham Zoo, where he was given lots of one-on-one time with the animals including a lion named Kwanza! Afterwards, Kameron got to ride in a limousine and received his Nintendo DSi as a present during a fun birthday party filled with lots of other surprises.
