Stacy has been a patient at our facility since birth. She has CP which affects her lower body. It was believed she would never be able to walk. One of the many milestones in a baby’s life and for the parents is to see your child take their first steps. That did not come for Stacy or her parents until she was five years old, holding on to a walker that was specially designed for her and wearing braces on her legs.
Stacy has had a young lifetime of surgery after surgery, rigorous physical therapies and engaged in physical and motor skill therapeutic programs that tested her young spirit and pushed her to physical and mental limits. I am convinced that what Stacy has experienced in her young life, most adults could not handle. She is a very smart, driven and determined little girl.
Behind Stacy’s tenacity stands an amazing mother, who’s unwavering support, devotion and dedication to her daughter is truly something for everyone to revere. The dream and hope of her daughter having the physical ability to walk on her own, unaided by equipment, is what keeps her focused. They are quite the team.
Today, Stacy is ale to walk on her own with the use of dual canes; truly a hero to anyone in her presence.
