Eva suffers from Cerebral Palsy and developmental delays. She comes into the hospital about every 6 months to have her baclofen pump refilled to help lessen the spasticity in her muscles. As a Child Life Specialist, I get to help her with coping techniques during her pump refills to make them easier for her. Eva has had a difficult time and gets quite anxious before and during the procedure but gets through it. The courage she shows each time her pump is filled and doing better with it over time is why she is our Hero!
