Chelsea’s grandfather was mowing the lawn one day while Chelsea played on the front porch with her grandmother. Her grandmother went inside for a minute and when her grandfather was backing up the lawn mower, she ran up behind him and he didn’t see her and backed up over her right leg, cutting very deeply and breaking the bone in her thigh and shin. The paramedics were called and she was airlifted to a hospital in Tampa where she had numerous surgeries to save her life and her leg. She was also given many blood transfusions. Chelsea spent 25 days in the hospital until she was well enough to go home. She also has to face may more surgeries in the future. The parents are very thankful that she has almost full use of her leg and that is still alive and is a true blessing to her family. She still endures therapy and has made much progress for being so young!
