Chaciti is a 6 year old girl that has been in and out of the hospital for the last several months. She was badly burned and has undergone countless dressing changes both in the hospital and at home, several hospitalizations and a skin graft. Not only are these procedures time consuming and repetitive, they are often times very painful. For several of the dressing changes, Chaciti also needed to receive an IV. This is not something a person of any age wants, much less a 6 year old. Chaciti has remained as cheerful as on would expect but always walks into clinic with a big smile. Chaciti’s bravery is admirable and she is constantly striving to be as independent as possible. It has been an honor to work with Chaciti and to see the progress she has made both medically and psychologically.
