Robyn was admitted to the hospital with an unspecified injury and infection to her right hip and thigh. Ultimately this complication resulted in a much needed surgery. From the onset of her hospitalization Robyn had to endure a long and difficult journey. From multiple needle sticks for her initial IV placement prior to surgery to her extended hospital stay, she has had a hospital experience unlike most of our children. During her stay, she had to endure 2 failed attempts to insert a PICC line. Both events were highly traumatic for her and her family. She tried her best to be brave and clam but it proved a little too much for her to handle on her own. On the 3rd attempt, she was given full anesthesia and all went well. Due to the bravery she displayed during her hospitalization, we believe she is our Hero!
