Jacob came into the ER with gastroenteritis. When he didn’t seem to be responding to the treatment additional tests were ordered and he was rushed to the operating room with a ruptured appendix with peritonitis. While a patient Jacob endured many painful procedures, surgeries, central line placements, drains and nasogastric tubes to help him recover. He was hospitalized for nearly a month and unable to eat or drink for most of his stay. Jacob had had multiple complications but through it all he remained positive. He was one of the bravest patients we have seen and are proud to call him our Hero!
