Shawn – who was diagnosed with arthrogryposis – is a very determined boy who has become more confident and positive in his attitude and outlook. Initially, when he started therapy, his mantra was, “I can’t”. This has now been replaced with a forceful, “Let me do it” or “I’ll try!” He is now able to walk independently, even though it was expected he would never do on his own. He has defied the odds and has the sheer determination to overcome obstacles in his path. Shawn is helpful to his classmates and teachers, is pleasant to work with, and has the drive to succeed!
