State: Baltimore, MD
Facility: University of Maryland Hospital of Children
15-year-old Josh is one of the familiar faces here at the hospital. A frequent visitor since his diagnosis nearly 5 years ago, Josh is described by his doctors as a teen who, despite his setbacks, is well adjusted, successful and a pleasure to be around. His diagnosis with Crohn’s Disease has caused Josh many hardships including missing seasons of recreational sports and school and has affected his ability to graduate with his friends. When in the hospital, Josh is quick to make friends during his visits to the teen room and various family activities.
