Facility: Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center
John is in the hospital diagnosed with pneumonia and respiratory distress causing an asthma attack. He was born a preemie here at Saint Elizabeth 4 years ago and spent 30 days in our NICU. He was rushed to the Emergency Room when he was two years old after he swallowed a penny. Shortly thereafter, he started have asthma attacks.
Although he had no asthma attacks during our brutal Nebraska winter, he came down with a bad cold recently and was rushed to the hospital in respiratory distress and is still breathing with some difficulty. John takes everything in stride, showing off his IV but is very shy when it comes to talking with strangers. He enjoys being surrounded with his matchbox toys.
