Shortly after New Year’s, Dylan was on his way to an Oakland Raiders game with his grandfather and cousins. All the children – including Dylan – were tired and decided to nap on the way there. Ten minutes into the family road trip, their car rolled over after it was hit by another vehicle. All the passengers needed medical treatment, but Dylan’s injuries were the most serious. He sustained multiple internal injuries which required surgery, along with a compressed sinus area. He woke up in the hospital with staples on his head and sutures all over his body. Despite the severity of his injuries, he has managed to stay strong and do all that is asked of him. He has even kept a sense of humor throughout the ordeal. For example, he commented that the thing that disappointed him the most was having his favorite outfit cut off by the on-the-scene paramedics! A week after his hospitalization, he began walking around and asked to go home. He is quiet, polite and a perfect HERO OF THE MONTH candidate!
