Chad suffered an open fracture of his R lower leg after attempting a 130 foot Motor cross jump. Since that time, Chad has suffered chronic, polymicrobial infection of his R tibia because of soil contamination which occurred at the time of the injury. He has been hospitalized 8 times over the past half year and had multiple surgeries for his unstable fracture and osteomyelitis. He suffers a tremendous amount of pain from this chronic osteomyelitis while unable to walk. Chad doctor claims that his case represents the most challenging infection he has ever treated at HCMC. His endurance, failure to quit and resilience of character has been inspiring and is a very deserving recipient of this award!!!
