Latrice is a 13-year old diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. She currently lives at Easter Seals Children’s Rehabilitation Center after spending over five months in the hospital following a motor vehicle accident. Although she has had to overcome major challenges, this remarkable young lady always keeps a positive attitude and brings joy to everyone around her. When asked to describe Latrice, most people choose the word “outgoing”. It is fitting because Latrice greets everyone she meets with a warm smile and is ready to engage in conversation. She has made significant progress since coming to Easter Seals. For example, she is beginning to walk with assistance, and now has functional use of her left hand. She has exceeded therapeutic expectations during her recovery and is a role model to her peers in both the classroom and therapy.
