Joshua was admitted to the hospital for a spinal fusion surgery. This type of surgery usually entails a painful recovery and an extended stay in the hospital. Joshua was an amazing patient. During recovery time in the hospital, one would usually take things slow. They would need to sit up in bed, ambulate to a chair and take a few steps in the hallway. Joshua was up and in a chair the day after surgery and was circling the hallways the day after that. Joshua never complained about physical therapy and was eager to work with the therapists and pushed himself past his limits sometimes. This young man showed great courage and a strong will throughout his stay. He set a great example not only for our other patients but also our staff. Joshua has proven that he is a hero!
