Jaye is a happy boy who has been through many trials in his short life. Just before his fifth birthday, he was diagnosed with a very serious illness called spinal meningitis. Shortly after the diagnosis, he suffered severe respiratory failure which caused him to fall into a coma. Doctors warned Jaye’s mother he may not make it, but he managed to awaken from his coma. The series of illnesses left him as a quadriplegic and confined to a wheelchair with no use of his hands, arms or legs.
Jaye had an amazing time meeting President Bush. He spent time with the Commander-in-Chief chatting about football and the President presented him with a signed photograph. Jaye and his mother stayed at the beautiful Hay Adams Hotel in D.C. and attended various other tours and attractions. Jaye’s mother said he was treated like royalty and the whole trip was so wonderful.
