Six-year-old Geo is a sweet boy who just loves watching baseball, especially when he can cheer on his favorite team, the L.A. Dodgers. When a baseball game isn’t on, Geo likes to watch the Disney Channel and play games on his Wii system. He’s a rare child who really enjoys doing homework and collecting Dodgers memorabilia.
For nine days after his birth, Geo was fine; all of a sudden he developed jaundice, stopped breathing and his body went limp. After being rushed to the hospital, he was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. This is a rare genetic disorder in which the left side of the heart is severely underdeveloped. Fifteen days later, little Geo endured his first open heart surgery. Since then, he’s suffered through two other open heart surgeries as well as enduring a stroke, which left him temporarily blind and deaf. Geo still suffers from seizures and his immune system is compromised. He is constantly in and out of the hospital and is on many varied medications.
Geo’s only wish is to enjoy the magic to be had at Disneyland. Get ready for your own pair of Mickey ears, Geo, because you’re going to Disney!
