In December 2001, Dylan and his family were in a car accident that left him paralyzed and his father dead. Through many therapies, Dylan has remained an active boy. Several days after returning home from a hunting trip, his mother noticed a large pressure ulcer on his lower back. He was admitted to the hospital and has had to have several surgeries for debridement of the wound and placement of a wound vac. He has been on bed rest since being admitted and is limited to the positions in which he can lay. It is unsure of when Dylan will be able to return him. He has been able to keep up with his school work and despite everything, has been a pleasure to work with throughout his hospitalization.
