When Brandon was almost 2-years-old, he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and a seizure disorder. CP is an illness in which the brain does not communicate with the muscles; symptoms include tight muscles, balance issues, poor coordination, and a delay in developmental skills such as walking and sitting. Brandon has about two or three seizures each day, and also wears braces to help him walk. He will soon have to be in a wheelchair for daily mobility. He also has a problem with his platelets – a sticky substance which clots blood to stop bleeding – where their number drops so low that he has to be hospitalized.
Brandon wanted to visit Disney World in Florida and his wish just came true! He spent his time in Florida enjoying all the fun the Disney theme parks could offer. Brandon particularly enjoyed riding rides like the Kilimanjaro Safaris in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Cinderella’s Golden Carousel at Magic Kingdom. He also posed for pictures with his favorite characters!
