TAMPA – Kids Wish Network will bring early holiday cheer to young patients at Shriners Hospitals for Children, Tampa through its third Holiday of Hope, held Thursday, May 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. Holiday of Hope is a unique gift giving event that strives to bring joy to all of these sick children and their siblings. In addition to the hundreds of toys that will be distributed by Kids Wish Network, several Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be there to assist with passing out the toys and providing some much needed cheer for these special kids. And to make the day even more unforgettable, there will also be entertainment by magician Ken “Kentastic” Spanola, clowns like Ted “Thumper” Simon from the Egypt Shrine Center, “Officer Snook” of the Hillsborough County Public Works Department, USF Professor Kay Lowe who will play the piano and sing songs, and John Kaleo of the Tampa Bay Storm.
While many of these children will be fortunate enough to have short hospital visits, others won’t be as lucky, having to endure extended stays. This unique, private event will create lasting memories for these kids, allowing them to temporarily escape from their health concerns and the fear of being in a strange place, away from their families.
