Jovania, who is 17-years old, has cancer in her left foot and two tumors on her right lung. There is always the devastating possibility that the cancer could spread to other limbs. To add to the challenges of living with a life threatening illness, Jovania has a disability that has prevented her from learning to read due to a premature birth. Despite it all, Jovania doesn’t let anything get her down and always has a ready smile.
When Kids Wish Network received Jovania’s wish for a shopping spree, Wish Coordinator Shelley Breiner quickly went to work. “Unfortunately, time is always of the essence with “our wish kids” said Shelley. “We have to work fast so that the wish comes true while the child is healthy enough to enjoy it.”
On Friday, Jovania’s exciting adventure begins when a limousine from Low Country Adventures will arrive at her home and whisk the delighted young girl and her mother to Oglethorpe Mall. In addition to the spending money provided by Kids Wish Network, Jovania will be presented with gift certificates and items donated by Footaction, The GAP, Rich’s, Stein Mart, and Cinema Grill. With three glorious hours of limousine service provided by Low Country Adventures, Jovania will also able to visit the Savannah Mall. After a whirlwind morning of shopping, Jovania and her mother will be treated to lunch at Ruby Tuesday.
In addition to shopping, Jovania enjoys watching the TV show “Moesha. She and her mother spend many pleasant hours sewing and putting puzzles together. And, not surprisingly, this brave young girl’s favorite song is “If At First You Don’t Succeed.”
