Siblings Fight Through Pain with Positivity and Perseverance

Siblings Theodore and Claire are both struggling with debilitating conditions.

Theodore is a sweet, brave boy who was diagnosed with a painful illness at two years old. He also has chronic muscular pain in his legs that limits his life. He’s in pain every day, and has had lots of lab work, X-rays, MRIs, and medications with side effects, yet still remains positive through it all. He attempts his best to stay active when pain levels allow, and Theo often says, “Distraction is the only thing that helps.”

Claire is kind, courageous and compassionate. She was diagnosed with her painful condition when she was six. Day to day she fights through differing levels of pain in her joints, but loves to be active and have fun despite her limitations. She has had lab work, different medications, many doctor visits, X-rays and physical therapy. Despite all of her pain, Claire is bright, adventurous, curious, kind and funny. She loves to engage with the world and people around her.

The siblings were nominated by their Child Life Specialist Anne O’Gorman at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Springfield, MA. Kids Wish Network applauds Theodore and Claire’s positivity and perseverance, awarding them gift packages through its Hero of the Month program.
