A Different Charity-a Broader Mission

As Kids Wish Network developed, it soon became clear that many of the children we served had needs above and beyond the extent of wish-granting. The needs of these children launched several important programs creating the demand for Kids Wish Network to provide services nationally. One of our exclusive and most unique benefits is our Funeral Assistance Program. Many of our "wish families" spend every dollar trying to keep their child alive. Tragically, when their child passes they have not prepared for their funeral. Our Funeral Assistance program ensures a proper end- of- life ceremony when the need arises.

Our "Holiday of Hope" events were created for hospital bound children who may not otherwise be able to enjoy commonly celebrated holidays with their families. Our "Holiday of Hope" events provide children with toys donated by major manufacturers from across the country and involves hospital staff, celebrities, and entertainment. The children and their families are treated to this experience and now have the opportunity to see their caregivers in a new and positive light. This program is in high demand by children’s hospitals across the country and has received accolades from hospital staff, social workers and sponsors alike. The dramatic success of this program led to the development of the Kids Wish Network Holiday of Hope Gift Bank. Our Gift Bank program provides age appropriate toys to pediatric patients in healthcare facilities nationwide. This program has proven to be invaluable to caregivers and enables them to divert the child’s attention from often traumatic and frightening experiences. Last year Kids Wish Network provided toys, games and electronic media, with a retail value in excess of five million dollars, to deserving children in hospitals nationwide. The enthusiastic response to theses programs from member hospitals led to the creation of another exciting program, Kids Wish Network Hero of the Month. Each month participating hospitals nominate a child to receive this unique award. These children do not have life-threatening conditions but they have faced some of life’s most unfortunate circumstances with extreme courage and strength. Pediatric facilities across the country are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to participate in this innovative program.

Kids Wish Network prides itself on its ability to recognize and respond quickly to the needs of sick children. Our expanded services continually help these special children throughout America. Our capacity to do so is only limited by funding.
